History of Association:

‘The Upper Ohio Valley Baptist Association, formed in 1961. Included 29 counties until recently. The sprawling association covered the entire northern section of the state, including both panhandles, which is now made up by 3 associations in addition to the present Upper Ohio Valley (Eastern Panhandle, Monongahela, and Immanuel). The association now consists of 5 churches with 923 members and covers 6 counties with a population of 201,472, of which 69,622 are unchurched. It is the only association without a chapel, but plans are in process to start new work in the near future. The oldest church, Temple, Moundsville, was started in 1954.’
